Welcome to the website of Lincoln Wheelers Cycling Club. We hope these pages provide you with useful information about the club, from club runs to racing and club clothing. If any information you require is not here, please use the 'contact us' link above and we will reply as soon as possible.
The aim of Lincoln Wheelers is to promote cycling as a social, recreational and competitive activity with a high regard for well-being and safety.
The Club has members of all ages and membership is open to anyone wishing to apply. The club is affiliated to a number of national cycling organisations: CTT (Cycling Time Trials), BC (British Cycling), and Cycling UK (formerly CTC)
Recreational Cycling and Training Activities Sunday morning club runs take place throughout the year. The distance covered varies during the year and they may be split into faster and slower groups according to attendance on the day. In the winter months laps of an outdoor training loop on the roads around Washingborough are held (for the more hardy winter riders! ) Members often arrange their own "away days" together where they will drive to another part of the country to do a social ride.
Competitive Events Events take place from March to October each year with Spring and Autumn 5 mile time trial leagues, as well as a 10 mile and a 25 mile time trial league during the Summer months. These league events are interspersed by 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 50 mile TT championships, team time trials, a hill climb, road races and cyclocross. There are also special events for tandems and tricycles.
Younger Riders Under 14's are directed to the Go-Ride section of the club here, All riders under 18 (17 years and under) can participate in group rides but must be accompanied by a parent/guardian who must be a member of Lincoln Wheelers Cycling Club (LWCC).
Social Events After the competitive events, it is the practice to stay and have a chat over a snack and a drink. The club holds an annual dinner and presentation of awards at the end of each season and, during the year, there may be various social activities such as a barbeque, quiz nights, downhill freewheeling, trips to a Velodrome.
